Bettws Weekly Round-Up |
||
|
Dear residents,
We hope you have had a great week. I am writing to provide you with an update on what the Bettws Neighbourhood Policing team have been doing in Bettws.
✅One Illegal dog seized Our officers have conducted a warrant at an address in Bettws which resulted in an illegal dog being seized as it was an unregistered banned breed.
✅ Joint Patrols We joined our colleagues from the Community Action Team (CAT) for joint patrols to tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and off-road bike activity. We also engaged with residents and local businesses and providing crime prevention advice. We hope to continue these patrols going forward.
✅ One vehicle seized PCSOs received reports of a suspicious vehicle being abandoned. When it was located, the vehicle was damaged. Checks then showed it was uninsured and had failed to stop for officers the previous night. The vehicle has since been recovered. Thank you to members of the community who reported, your information helps us tackle these issues.
✅ School patrols We have been made aware of on-going issues with parking around Ifor Hael Primary School. Our team are conducting patrols at school leaving times where possible and we are also working closely with the Civil Enforcement team to deter this issue. As a result: Positive engagement with parents, pupils and staff.
✅ Walkabout with housing Our officers conducted a walkabout with the Hedyn housing manager to visit residents, focus on hotspot areas and discuss local issues. It was great to speak to people about issues in the community, we hope you feel reassured by the patrols and advice provided. If you did not manage to speak with us but want to raise an issue, you can contact 101 or email NewportWestNPT@gwent.police.uk
Thank you for your continued support!
